WAR ON SUKKOT! (Part 2 - Daniel Botkin)

13 Tishrei 5778

Part 1

Who is Daniel Botkin? He is a leader in the "Two-House" Messianic Christian movement and runs his own ministry called Gates of Eden. The main thing you need to know from his Statement of Faith is that he believes that...
Yeshua – Jesus of Nazareth – is the Messiah, whose coming was foretold by the Prophets. He is God manifested in flesh. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died as an atoning sacrifice for our sins, rose from the dead, and ascended into the heavens. He is now alive and sits at the right hand of the Father as our Mediator. His sacrifice allows us, His disciples, to enter the presence of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob with our praises, prayers and petitions. He will someday physically return to Earth to rule as the King of kings.

...The Torah was given to Israel. When a non-Jewish person puts his trust in Jesus, the Messiah of Israel, he is grafted into Israel. His faith in Israel’s Messiah makes him a part of Israel. Therefore Israel’s Torah is for him, because he is now a member of the commonwealth of Israel.
Most importantly, you need to be aware of his deep connection to and influence upon Hayovel and its participants as a featured speaker and teacher.

In response to Tommy Waller's recent "plea for repentance" which he posted on his facebook page, Breaking Israel News writer Adam Berkowitz appeared to agree with the one new man theology...
Daniel Botkin weighed in on that same Sep 29, 2017 posting on Tommy Waller's facebook page...
Daniel Botkin: In Israel in 2012, I interviewed a well known Jewish Israeli author and journalist whose name would be recognized by many Israelis. Here is a short excerpt, verbatim, from my lengthy interview with him: "I see nothing wrong with Christians missionizing Jews. I don't care of they try to missionize ME. They wouldn't succeed, but I don't care if they want to try. If you were my friend and I really believed that the eternal destiny of your soul was at stake and depended on it, it would be criminal of me if I did NOT try to persuade you. I think this fear of missionaries is preposterous. It suggests a fear of not being able to stand. The fear of missionaries is a sad commentary on Judaism."
In response to a question from a Jewish commenter, he replied...
Daniel Botkin: For the record, I've never said I want to convert Jews to Protestant Christianity and turn them away from Torah. But I will unashamedly confess that I want Jews to see that Yeshua is the Messiah who was promised by Moses and the Prophets, and continue to live as Jews. I'm not pushy with my beliefs, but if I have an opportunity to speak to a Jew who wants to hear about Yeshua, I will do my absolute best to persuade him that Yeshua is the Messiah. ...BTW, if you have an hour, you might also want to see my video "Why Jews Don't Believe in Jesus." You might actually like it, at least parts of it.
In case you missed it, this last remark was an attempt on his part to get the first foot in the door by inviting the Jew to view his argument on behalf of accepting Yeshu. (Note that the clips in the above video came directly from the suggested video series.)

The Jewish commenter wrote back: "You pretend you only want Jews to accept yeshu as messiah but that is just a first step to worshipping him. The other post is your article on how a majority of Jews must accept yeshu for his return. ...is [that] what you taught to hayovel volunteers when you were brought to teach them?"

Daniel Botkin: ...I make no secret of anything I believe, as you can see from my web site. Normally when a Jew is persuaded that Yeshua is the Messiah, the believing Jew accepts the New Testament as Holy Scripture, and therefore believes everything the N.T. says about Yeshua. If the deity of Messiah issue is the thing that is troubling you, I refer you to a book by Daniel Boyarin, "The Jewish Gospels." Boyarin is Professor of Talmudic Culture at University of Calif., Berkley, and not a believer in Jesus. In his book (published in 2012), he says that the idea of a divine messiah is NOT an idea that Christians borrowed from pagans, but was a Jewish idea at the time of Yeshua. Here are 2 quotes from his book:... And consider this, from Rabbi Joseph Soloveitchik, ....
Needless to say, he took the words of the Rav and put his own warped and twisted interpretation on it, making it seem as if Rav Soloveitchik would somehow endorse a Divine messiah if he had only understood what Daniel Botkin knows. God forbid!
Daniel Botkin: I'm not pretending anything. Yes, if Jews accept Yeshua as Messiah, they will believe what the New Testament teaches about Him, and that will lead to viewing Him, in some sense, as divine, ...And if He is divine, that means He will in some sense be "worshipped" as you call it.
Scott Skaggs: Nice post Daniel Botkin....there are many more confirmations out of the mouths of scholars and revered Rabbis that attest that the deity of Messiah was a Jewish concept.
Keep in mind that in the very beginning, the Jews were assured that Tommy Waller, his family and the Hayovel volunteers were all Bnei Noach (or getting there) - that they had given up traditional Christianity and were "on a path" to the truth of the Torah.

It all turned out to be another Christian lie. They aren't "on a path". They aren't even looking for a different path.

They all still believe in the same old False Testament heresies. They all continue to worship Yeshu as the Deity. And they all still want Jews to believe as they do... No, they NEED Jews to believe as they do - to embrace Yeshu as both god and messiah (God forbid!) - since Yeshu "can't" come back until Jews join with them as the one new man!

It has been twelve years and the Jews who associate with them are closer to Tommy Waller than the goyim are to the truth of the Torah...
Hanoch Young: Tommy - you are deeply appreciated for all you do!
Ari Boudestein: G-d bless the Waller family!!
Yonaton Behar: Kol Hakavod, my old war buddy!

Ruth Jaffe Lieberman: Appreciating you and your family!
Jonathan Feldstein: Thank you for your brave and very public position Tommy Waller
Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz: Tommy Waller What you said could not have been more simple, straightforward, or heartfelt. Words that go out from the heart enter into the heart. Anyone who did not understand or objected is willfully filling themselves with anger.
Gidon Ariel: Tommy Waller, thank you for this well timed exercise in teshuvah. I apologise for the behavior of some few people who embarrass real Jews who are rachmanim Bnei rachmanim. You are familiar with it so you have developed a thick skin together with wonderful relationships with grateful authentic Jews. Shana Tova!

Still trying to confirm this claim by all involved that Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu has endorsed Hayovel with a psak halachah. I have not seen it. If anyone else has, please forward it to my attention. Thank you.

  3. Agree with Inon regarding Rabbi Eliyahu. Also, those Jews listed above who so admire the Wallers and his ilk are obviously complete ignoramuses in Torah!!!

  4. Good for you Devorah, you are a courageous woman just like your namesake! Keep your spirits up, Hashem is with you and He loves you greatly! You are a true daughter to Him!

Wait and you will see Devorah. Soon the Mashiah will arise, and he will rise like a lion that tears apart it's prey. And then you will see many many young Jewish men, all your brothers and sons, they too will rise and roar like our future king! You will feel great pride then, you will be like a lioness that sees her husband strong and proud!

Hashem be with you! Hashem watch over you! Hashem guard you and fight all your battles for you!
