Our Secret Weapon - Q and A, Pt 2 of 2

Q. A Jew told me that his daughter learns at an institution of one of the important communities, what is called 'extremist', the girls went out on a school-sponsored trip, the bus driver took his I-phone, connected it to a speaker and the girls started to dance there. The daughter went to look for the teacher in order to stop the scandal, but she discovered to her astonishment that the teacher danced there together with her students... Foolishness like that. They've lost the holy feeling.

A. What can I tell you. That's exactly the example. They've forgotten what Yiddishkeit is, most of the Yiddishkeit is 'external' - it has ceased to be internal.

Q. Chareidi representatives on the city council collaborated knowing full well the budget was for the toeivah parade.

A. Money, money, money. I don't need to say more.

Q. From most of the silence to all the parades and to all the impurities, we gave them authorization from Heaven to enter within our camp and to kill souls of pure children, r"l. And it all passed in silence. There was a meeting with rabbis and politicos, it didn't help at all, nothing...

A. Right, we're seeing the greatest wickedness that there ever was. And that's our Jews, they're not Jews - they're Erev Rav. And now you see, whoever said such a thing - he is without a doubt Erev Rav, there's nothing at all to say. Whoever brings stories of lies, who is not checking them if it's truth or lie, then he's Erev Rav, and it doesn't matter if he's a big rabbi or some little person who works manual-labor, it doesn't matter. We know this, and therefore we need to guard our children, and not go to them to request help, because they won't help us.

Q. There are horror stories about what is happening in the educational system... Mothers are really afraid from the danger of sending their children...

A. That's exactly it. They want to frighten the Jews, they want to bring them down from the truth. They want that they will also be this way, there are [people] like these whom it speaks to them - things like this. They want to give them a taste for these things. One thing that can help: Every parent needs to protect his child, and make efforts that he won't be exposed to a thing like that. Watch over him on his arrival at school and on his return from school. And even if you need to leave him at home - that's a better education than what's happening like this thing. We don't have anyone to depend on here - only on HKB"H. And they come into our world, the world that was once closed to outsiders - and now everything is open, and this arouses also the twisted desires of many Jews, and then they lure them to these things. They want to destroy Am Yisrael from within, they helped to raise up this State for this! What do you think, that Truman (US President) loved Jews so much that he wanted to vote in favor of a Jewish State?! Nonsense. Also the Russians voted in favor, the communists! Isn't that strange?!

Q. What do you think about the nuclear-agreement with Iran, how does it fit together with the evildoers takeover?

A. All of it - it's part of their game. They want the Arabs to kill each other, and maybe it will also help them to overcome Israel. But they've already sent [them] here, it will be the reason for them to send soldiers here from various countries, maybe from the UN, and then - that's it, it's the end! Either the Jews will go along with them or...'

Q. I have a question. Once, you urged us to go out, to return in teshuvah, to be concerned for everyone... In recent years I'm feeling a change in direction of the messages, now our job is to withdraw and be aloof in order to protect ourselves...

A. You're right 100%. I'll explain it to you. The famous kiruv organizations, they also were about 'control of money', also they ceased [to be] 'completely 'l'shem shamayim', that is to say that there is another part to 'for the sake of heaven', but there is also a part that is with the lie. And there are organizations that particularly want to go to the direction of the seculars on television, and etc, etc., but it doesn't work so well, whoever 'returns' from it - 'returns' also from confusion, with the feeling that it's also possible to also hold on to part of the secularism, of their approach. The problem today is when we want to come close, to bring someone within the chareidi camp, there's almost no real chareidism! There are all sorts of nice people ,etc., who will bring them, but to say that it's with all the heart and soul? No! Usually not. I'm not saying that a person can't return someone in teshuvah, that's without a doubt, but today it's much harder.

And there are authorities here in Israel and in the world who are still dreaming about 'the final solution of the Jews'. And here in Israel with the help of other 'so-called Jews', the evildoers have entered strongly into Eretz Yisrael, to the State of Israel, and they're almost ruling here completely. And like they went into the United States and are controlling the United States, almost ruling by way of their president, by way of their Congress who have a lot of filth on them - and because of this they're doing what the president wants, and also by way of their military, which shortly will control the United States, the American military. And here also, they're about to take over. The same way they're also doing [it here]. They have people in the highest places here in Israel, 'so-called Jews', and in general, look - who is inhabiting this state? Who brought all the people here? The evildoers themselves, the Jews who started Zionism! And everything was relevant and connected: Communism, Socialism, Fascism, and also Zionism. They created it for making a mess in the world, and to join everyone, because the evildoers - are servants of Satan, really! Do you think it can't be in our generation, a thing like this? It always was - and it never stopped.

And these, the richest in the world - they're also the sickest in the world! And they're servants of Satan, and it's just like we've arrived again to the first sin. And this war, the last war, again, it's the Satan, the snake, against HKB"H. But we, Am Yisrael, who all our souls came from Adam HaRishon, this time we have to enter into Shabbat whole in body and in spirit, and whole in soul that's connecting us to HKB"H, and this time we will enter into Shabbat - and we will remain.

Q. Will the State be completely destroyed before the coming of Mashiach, or will something remain, some trace?

A. Eretz Yisrael will not be destroyed, just the State will be destroyed. I don't exactly know how it will be. I don't believe that much will be destroyed here, I believe that the majority will remain standing. I don't know if they want to bomb here very strongly, because look, they're already building here trains, tunnels, and all kinds of things, they've invested a lot of money here, and it doesn't come from the State's budget. So, therefore, it's hard for me to believe that they want to bomb a lot here. And also the meaning of the prophets' words of the End of Days, when Mashiach fights against the nations of the world, in any case they don't enter into Eretz Yisrael really, and still people are existing, people living here, while at the same time in all the world already there is no life, these are the remnant of what remains from the great war that they will fight one against the other in the world. So anyway most of the world will be destroyed and whoever remains comes against us. So as we see that [there's] life here in Israel, food, drink, sleeping and getting up, but there's no State - that's clear.

  1. i was confused about question 3? I just googled and this is what I found. Is this what he is talking about??!

Ultra-Orthodox Schools Get More Funding in Israel Than Regular State Schools

Haredi elementary schools that ostensibly accept Education Ministry demands to study the core curriculum and become state schools receive at least 10 more hours a week funded by the ministry than regular state elementary schools, Haaretz has learned.

Coalition Deal Gives ultra-Orthodox Schools Unprecedented Boost

Leaks from the coalition agreement signed last week between Likud and United Torah Judaism, which has yet to be officially publicized, attest to an unprecedented achievement by UTJ of recognition of the ultra-Orthodox education systems – both in budgetary and legal terms. In effect, UTJ demanded, and apparently received, complete equality between the Haredi and state education systems,...

    1. I'm sorry, but that one left me wondering a bit as well. Clearly, those present understood the question and the answer though.

  2. Yes, agree that these ultra orthodox who are part of the regime are chareidi externally but are really the same as the rest sitting in the knesset - money is all that matters. Practically the whole leadership are erev rav. nili

    1. "Whoever brings stories of lies, who is not checking them if it's truth or lie, then he's Erev Rav, and it doesn't matter if he's a big rabbi or some little person..."
So, who's checking all these allegations of "this one's erev rav," and "they" are all evil, and "all they care about is money"?
What happened to condemning the behavior and not the person? What happened to being dan lechaf zechus? Oh, it's so simple. "They" are not really Jews - they're ER and so we can malign them 24/7.
      REALLY?
Does it say that anywhere in Sefer Shemiras Halashon? I wonder what they Chofetz Chaim would think of such posts, and some of the horribly judgmental replies.
And as for the allegation that "Mothers are really afraid from the danger of sending their children..." I never heard anything so ludicrous. (In any case, if they're so afraid, they can home-school...)
I wonder who the blog writer approves of in this day and age. I wonder if he would even find 36 tzaddikim.
We're all on a continuum, and yes, some of us like ice cream. Some of us ladies like to wear the occasional pink or lilac (note: i did not say magenta or violet) and not be condemned for it. Some of us aren't perfect yet but we're still trying.
But no, we're erev rav, because we didn't do teshuvah yet on all our aveiros.
Funny, how Hashem still has patience with us when certain "know-it-alls" don't. You know what? I still have tremendous respect for the Ultra orthodox, and for the orthodox, and for most Jews, actually. Most of us are trying hard and have a good Jewish heart and are ready to go out of our way to help each other. And it's just as easy to find prophecies that we're all going to be saved, as it is to find quotes that seem to say that only a tiny minority are going to make it.
Somehow, i find it hard to believe that Hashem is going to wipe most of us out and only leave behind all these smug "You're erev rav" types behind. Oh what a world that would be, with only such people left. I certainly wouldn't want to be around to see it.

    2. hello Nili, do you really have ruach hakodesh? I mean, the Ari Hakadosh at least looked at a person's face before telling him what sins he had done, but you can tell us who's erev rav and who isn't without even seeing the person. Amazing!
Well well well. Money is all that matters to those evil erev rav hareidi politicians, right? And money is all that presumably matters to all the people who voted for them.
Money - terrible. I mean, it's only the money that we need to feed our children and buy them food and clothing and pay for their education. And pay through the nose because the government hardly gives a penny - but of course, it's totally forbidden to try and squeeze more money out of them, because that's just proof that you're erev rav.
Let's see you talk about money like that when all you can afford to feed your kids is cheap white bread and tomato paste. When your kids don't have Shabbos shoes and wear their sandals on Shabbos too. When the bank calls you up regularly to complain about your growing overdraft, while laughing at all the interest you're paying because you have absolutely no way of covering it other than selling your house - if you're lucky enough to have one.
Since when is trying to survive a sin?
Since when is it permissible al pi Torah to condemn the hareidi MKs who sit among those who hate and revile them in order to try and help their community? Do you have any idea what kind of abuse they endure in order to try and get a bit more funding (and forget about equal) for religious kids?
What do you expect us to do instead? Never heard of hishtadlus? Do you condemn the Chazon Ish too since he was a member of Agudah? The Steipler? Rav Shlomo Zalman Auerbach? Do you really think they picked members of the erev rav to represent them in the knesset?
How about stopping to think a little bit, and having just a little bit of humility.

  3. I think that paragraph is still referring to the pride people, in that some souls are accepting them, yeshivos will certainly have some, and some will be teachers in all chareidi schools, whether men or women, and even as the trend goes, some of the children chv"s might think it's novel! That's why mothers will keep their children home, in addition to their aversion to secular subjects.

  4. Anyone who doesn't subscribe to your way of thinking is erev rav. Anyone who thinks, acts or dresses differently is erev rav. If people don't vote your way, they are tainted--erev rav. If people like ice cream, they're erev rav. If they like nice things, they're erev rav. Young girls dancing is shameful? Maybe they are erev rav too! ENOUGH!!

I used to have tremendous respect for the Ultra orthodox because I thought they were Torah true--that's over. The level of sinat chinim directed toward other Jews that comes from some Charedis is horrible to say the least. Horrible words lead to horrible deeds. An innocent young girl was murdered recently because she supported friends at a pride parade, Her murderer? A Charedi man whose mind was twisted. Her real crime? She was compassionate toward her friends. She wasn't even gay. And by the way, some gay men and women put their lives on the line by serving in the IDF to protect you and your families and the land of Israel. Stop demonizing them.

Study Torah in earnestness and leave the judgement to Hashem where it belongs.

"I used to have tremendous respect for the Ultra orthodox because I thought they were Torah true--that's over"

      I feel sorry for you--
      I feel sorry for you, for the hate that's in your heart;
      I feel sorry for you, that you are 'mis'defining what we define as Erev Rav;
I feel sorry for you, that you don't know the 'true beauty' of a 'large segment' of the chareidi world.

Truth, Happiness, Torah. That's the chareidi world!
Every community has their exceptions, of course, and the chareidi world is no different. It is very unfortunate that you've only met up with the exceptions.

You're missing out on the beauty of Judaism.
You're missing out on the beauty of the world's finest.

    3. I love my values because they stem from my family. My mother spent four years in a concentration camp and my grandmother perished in the Holocaust. My grandmother was a true Eishes Chayil who didn't care about whether a Jew wore peyot or if women had sleeves & dresses that were or weren't long enough. If they needed help emotional or financial she was there to help and didn't pass judgement one way or the other, thinking her way was the only way because she was ultra-orthodox. My mother was the same who kept her bunk mates alive because she was brave enough to forage for food and share what she had. Those are the values--honesty, courage, truthfulness and compassion--that I aspire to and I am proud of them. - Newbie ER

    4. And you're right to be proud. But some people, who saw someone like your mother in an ice-cream bar enjoying food would prefer to yell "erev rav!!!"
Not that i particularly approve of eating in public. But when are we going to get our priorities straight?
And no, i don't approve of pritzus on the streets (or in the homes either). But condemning the people (rather than the behavior) is a) GA'AVAH b) assur c) totally unhelpful and won't get anyone to do teshuvah, least of all the person doing the condemning.
The Baal Shem Tov taught that the world is a mirror. Which means that everything we see is from within us. What we see is what Hashem is showing us that WE have to correct within OURSELVES.
If a person prefers to go around yelling erev rav, he has totally and utterly missed the point.

    5. Why such an emotional response, Yehudis? It's causing you to do the very thing you claim to detest. Nowhere - NOWHERE - has anyone ever been been given reason to believe that Erev Rav can be identified by what they eat or what they wear - quite the contrary in fact. It's been stated more than once that externals are not a clear indication. What counts is the person's worldview and value system.

Many sources say that the final governments of Israel would be all Erev Rav. It's very interesting that good people with a clear heart for Yiddishkeit and Am Yisrael, like Dr. Michael Ben Ari, Baruch Marzel, Moshe Feiglin, Eli Yishai and his party were all kept out of the sitting government this time around.

    6. Yehudis, you are totally taking this out of proportion! Ice cream can sometimes be a 'mitzvah' too. Read Chovos Halvovos, Shar Avodas HaElokim, and see that he holds that everything neutral that a person does, i.e. neither a good deed nor a bad deed, is dependent on the direction his life is going and the thoughts he has. So if a weary hard working mother, who rears children to be true Ovdei Hashem, needs an ice cream break with all of the sprinkles on top, she will even get rewarded for eating it!!! And if while eating an ice cream, we are in awe of Hashem's generosity toward us, and/or we make a careful Berachah, there's an additional Mitzvah there. Yet, eating ice cream with a gluttonous lifestyle, may accrue much the apposite.

With much due respect to all those who abstain from these kinds of food; They are certainly getting rewarded for refraining from indulging in Gashmius.

  6. Sarah,

Thanks for your response but I have many friends, acquaintances and even relatives who are Charedi. I don't doubt for a minute their kindness, sincerity, compassion and Torah observance. But yes, you are right--I am encountering too many "exceptions" and I can't fathom it/them but that doesn't make me guilty of sinat chinim. It makes me less trusting and willing to turn a blind eye to intolerance and and hurtful behaviour when I see, hear or read it. --Newbie ER

    1. Newbie ER,

Maybe some comments on this blog are sharper than you'd like, and sometimes more expressive or finger pointing than you can handle; but this is what this blog is all about. Trying to discern the truth amidst this chaotic world.

I will admit that there's a substantial number of chareidim with your conceived mentality, however you must admit that the secular world points fingers at us, likewise. For their own agenda.... This is human nature. Always believing that 'I'm the way it should be'.

Your mother does seem to be a true hero. But, now we will march down the road to her children and grandchildren. I don't know you. But are you as observant as your mother was? Is your tznius where hers was? Are you as yid loving as she was? Well, if yes, kudos to you and her. But, if not, here's your answer: Most (and I say, most) offspring of 'love your fellow jew, but all the other mitzvos don't count as much' yidden, will find their children veer off the right path until they have no more jewishness in their hearts left. Every true torah jew abominates the behavior that you are trying to whitewash. Now, although I wouldn't know how to pick up a knife against any other human, I would keep quiet on this topic, just because the sin is too great to bear. So, we should certainly keep our knives in our kitchen drawers, but we should also know where our true values stand. And, certainly share them....

As a last note, you mentioned that 'we, ultra orthodox' cannot handle anybody that's different than us. I'm pretty certain, that soon enough, with Moshiach's arrival, when all of us on this blog will get to see each other's shining faces in Yerushalayim, we will be quiet surprised to see the diversity of backgrounds. Our only common ground is that we are seeking the truth!
